Jpop Recommend #19 Tooku Tooku by Noriyuki Makihara

遠く遠く Tooku Tooku

槇原 敬之 Noriyuki Makihara

Released in June 1992, this song was one of the songs for the album, ”Kimi wa Boku no Takaramono".  But this song slowly gained popularity by its lyrics.  There are many young people who leave their hometown and start a new life in Tokyo as described in the lyrics.  March is the season for departure and April is the season for a new beginning.  Noriyuki Makihara is a great storyteller and this song is an "Oh-enka" for such people.
